General Rules & Conditions 2008-2012
RULE BOOK DISCLAIMER
The rules and/or regulations set forth herein
are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events
and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events.
These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating
in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied
with these rules. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL
RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND
OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of
the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death
to a participant, spectator, or official.
The race director shall be empowered to permit
reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications
herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion
do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. NO EXPRESSED
OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION
OF SPECIFICATIONS. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules
is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decision is
final.
Track owner and or his officials reserve the
right to establish & maintain fairness of competition and
the safety of all whom enter green valley speedway property. He/or
his assigns have the authority to do whatever they deem necessary
to accomplish & establish same. By purchasing entry to the
property or being an invited guest you affirm and recognize such
authority. Your failure to follow any official & lawful instruction
will be cause for immediate removal from the track without the
refund of either passes or entry fees.
All ATV’S, golf carts or other personal
vehicles not pulling a racing trailer into the pits will be charged
$5.00 per day to park in the pit area for each regular season
race and $10 day for each special races or other rates as posted.
The abuse of the privilege, over crowding and insurance costs
are the reasons we no longer allow free ATV’S or personal
cars to park in the pits. If you have a special medical condition
let us know, so we may accommodate you. No one is allowed to drive
ATV'S on premises unless they are at least 16 years old (this
is also a state law and violators are subject to same). Speeders
& minors will be warned for the first offense, fined $25.00
for second offense, and ATV will be impounded until owner leaves
the track upon third offense.
- RaceCeivers and transponders will be required by all participants.
No radio communication between pit and cars is allowed.
- The first four cars in all divisions are subject to a track
tech and track is not responsible for any expense to drivers for
this inspection. Refusal to submit to technical inspection is
grounds for disqualification.
- Mufflers maybe required in any class in the future based on
city code enforcement.
- Any driver that wishes to compete in more than one class per
night will have to pay an additional $50 entry fee for each additional
class. The same car cannot race in two classes.
- It is the policy of Green Valley Speedway not to turn any driver
away the first time that they come to race during the season.
Therefore we have a "one time courtesy” if you don’t
specifically qualify for a specific class we will let you run,
provided that we reserve the right to place you in the class that
you are most qualified for and may require that you add additional
weight to your car”. This is in an effort to make the competition
more equal for all drivers concerned and to allow someone to run
that hasn’t been to the track before.
- No fighting: drivers are responsible for his or her crew. First
offense a 1 race suspension and $200 fine each, for all participating
parties. Second offense a 4 race suspension and $400 fine for
both parties. Third offense- banned from the track for the rest
of the season for both parties. Any driver or pit crew member
that enters another driver's pit area will be deemed the aggressor.
Away from either driver's pits driver and crewmembers will be
deemed the aggressor. Any person instigating a fight will be immediately
disqualified from further competition for the rest of that day
or nights event. Any driver or spectator who is abusive, in words
or actions in dealing with any track official will be immediately
disqualified from further competition for the rest of that day
or nights event and receive no purse money or driver points. Violators
may also be removed from the track property and will receive no
monetary refunds of passes or entry fees and are subject to fines,
suspension or further discipline.
- Anybody who has been disqualified for a motor infraction and
desires to have their motor impounded for inspection at a motor
shop of the tracks choice must immediately surrender the motor
to track officials and immediately post a $500 nonrefundable deposit
for such inspection costs and be prepared to pay additional inspection
costs prior to motors return to them. Once the car and or motor
leave the tech building and or leave the sight of the Techman,
all rights to appeal end forever.
- Any driver or pit crew member who enters the grandstand area
and conducts him of herself in an unsportsmanlike manner may be
suspended or fined.
The race will be start on the front straightaway at the white
line or cone. Any driver that jumps on the start or restart will
be given no warning. The driver will be sent back one row or his
or her lap will not be counted.

- Cars leaving track for replacement of flat tires will be given
a three courtesy laps to return to track in non regular season
payout events only
- Any car that brings out the yellow flag two times will be sent
to the pits.
All legal car weights after a feature, heat race or qualifying
are as the car leaves the track. Any weights, fenders, hoods,
etc. That come off the car while on the racetrack cannot be added
as additional weight at the scale. Car weight is to be legal anytime
with car and driver. If you raced with it, it counts if you didn’t
it doesn’t, it’s that simple.
- Any driver who wins 3 races in a row or 4 out of any 5 races
can expect a track inspection or teardown. If they are found to
grossly or intentionally illegal in motor, transmission or any
other manner, or it is judged that they have been intentionally
cheating, they shall immediately loose all points and monies for
that evening and an additional 500 points will be deducted from
season point total. A second offense will be grounds for a three
race suspension. A third offense is disqualification for the remainder
of the season.
- Nobody is allowed touch racecars on the track but track officials.
Any car worked on by other than a track official will be put in
the pits. All cars will stop on the front straight away only to
have metal pulled by track officials
- Any driver leaving their car while on the track and approaches
another driver or other drivers car in an aggressive manner will
be given no warning and disqualified and receive no point or money
for night. You should never leave your car while on the track
unless you are in immediate danger.
- Any driver in the opinion of track officials that goes into
the mud to gain additional weight, after taking the checkered
flag will get ½ their money and ½ of their points.
- The top four finishers must cross scales after heat or feature
races. All cars must cross the scales after qualifying.
- When yellow flag is brought out, we will go back to the last
completed green lap for the line-up. On the white flag lap, you
will continue to the checkered flag unless officials throw a caution
because of immediate danger on the track.
- For any unnecessary roughness on the race track, the race will
stop and the person or persons responsible will be put into the
pit.
- If you take a car out on the white flag lap you will be paid
tow money only and receive no points. The car that was taken out
will be paid for their spot and get their points.
- Race cars speeding through the pits will not be tolerated.
First offense receives a verbal warning, second offense $100 fine,
third offense- banned from the track for 60 days.
- All cars must have a readable number on the car. If there is
no number on car scoring may be an issue, and your car may not
get scored correctly.
- If you are found illegal in a protest or disqualified for any
reason you will not receive any money or points.
- Any car that pulls into the pits and re enters under a green
flag and stops will be automatically put back into the pits. This
applies to starts and restarts.
- If you are late to the infield or miss your qualifying group
you will start in the rear of the field for either the heat race
or main that you are late for. If you attempted to make a lap
during qualifying and pull into the pits your qualifying is done.
- Prize money will not be held for anybody. It must be picked
up the night it is earned. Only the driver or his representative
who has with them the driver’s license, of the driver, as
identification will be authorization may pick up money.
- Any driver, crew member or relative of same that enters the
scorers box, flag stand or owners skybox or other restricted areas
without prior invitation or in an aggressive manner is subject
to an immediate $200.00 fine and or disqualification for the night
with no race money or point will be given.
- Any driver who attempts to drive racecar while under the influence
of alcohol or illegal drugs is subject to immediate disqualification
and forfeiture of all prize money, entry fees and pit passes.
We reserve the right to require all participants, crewmembers
or other individuals on track property to subject themselves to
a sobriety test at anytime they are on the track property. Failure
for anyone to subject themselves to such test will be sufficient
ground for removal from property without recourse for any monetary
refund to expelled party, to include passes or entry fees.
- Qualifying super late model, limited late model & crate
late model. Four cars will enter the track from the infield at
the same time and in the order of their pill number drawn for
qualifying. Drivers will be given two laps around the track to
spread the field. It’s all drivers’ responsibility
to distance themselves from the car in front of them. They each
should not take up more than ¼ of the track in doing so.
You will be warned to distance yourself properly and any driver
who continually fails to do so will be sent to the pits and start
in the rear of the field upon their next entrance onto the track.
Once qualifying begins you will get the green/green/white/ checkered
flag and get 3 qualifying laps with the fastest of your three
laps being used for your qualifying time. In the event of a caution
on the first qualifying lap you will get 3 more laps of qualifying,
if a caution comes out on the second lap you get two more laps,
if two cautions come out on the first or second lap then you will
go to the next lap. If a caution comes out on the third lap then
qualifying is over and the best time of your first two laps will
be used for your qualifying time.
- Delaware double file restarts:
Delaware Double File Restarts Exact Procedure
When a caution comes out and with the lead car in front, the rest
of the field will hold their current positions in Single File
Order behind the leader, so they can be properly realigned. Cars
not immediately lining up in single file order will be sent back
one row from their original restart position.
When the caution is cleared and on command from the tower the
second car will go either inside or out. The third car will go
the opposite of the second car and each car thereafter shall alternate.
Once the cars are lined up you will be given the indications by
Raceiver, Flagman & Flashing Green Lights that we are restarting
the race when the leader hits the flagstand. After approx. 60%
(examples: 15 laps in a 25 lap race or 10 laps in a 15 lap race)
of the laps in any are completed we will go back to single file
restarts.
Restarts Exact Procedure No Exceptions
The leading car shall lead cars to the front straightaway in
a smooth and consistent manner. The race will be started or
restarted, at the cone in front of the flagstand. Any driver
that jumps on the start or restart will be given no warning
and the driver will be sent back one row or his or her lap will
not be counted.
There will be no simulation of a false start once you have
passed turn three. If any car including the leader approaches
turn four or the flagstand in anything other than a smooth manner
he/she shall be considered to have committed a false start and
will be given no warning and will be sent back one row. You
are not to pass another car until after you have cleared the
flagstand and any car that does will be sent back one row on
the restart. A second violation by the same car will cause them
to be black flagged and sent to the pits.

Protest procedures there is a five (5) minute time limit after
checkered flag to get money to the scale or Techman and only
the protesting driver & one representative of his/her choice
and the protested driver with one representative of his/her
choice shall be allowed in the tech area.

Cost for protests: $300 for one head, $200 for oil pan, $150
for P&G, $50 to check, flywheel & clutch, $50 to check
carburetor, $50 to check, wheelbase, and $700 to protest everything
on a car. $900 to protest a crate engine *track receives 50%
of this fee, when motor is impounded as it will be if teardown
is needed. The tear down will be at W. Vinson’s motor
shop in Southside, Al. Protested driver, protestor and Vinson
must agree on a date with in 5 business days, as to when inspection
will take place. If either the protestor or the driver being
protested fails to agree on a date or fails to show on an agreed
upon date the party failing to show or agree to a date will
be considered the defaulting party. If protestor is in default
protested car will be considered legal and monies will be disbursed
accordingly. If protested car is in default, then car will be
considered illegal. Track gets 25% for each protest. 75% to
prevailing driver. Driver must finish in the top three and be
on the lead lap to protest. No backward protests will be allowed,
as you can only protest a car in front of you. Any car in the
top three found illegal at scales or track’s regular tech
may not protest. All protests must be filed along with protest
fee (cash only) to the inspector within 5 min. of the completion
of the race in which car being protested ran. Protested drivers
will have the right to protest the car that filed the original
protest. Counter protesting driver will then have a 5 min. Time
limit to pay fees after the inspector notifies him that is being
protested. The driver/drivers have a one hour time limit to
have his/her car ready for inspection, once notified of protest.
Failure to do so is grounds for disqualification the moment
the teardown or inspection begins the track will retain 25%
of all protest fees regardless of the outcome. If driver refuses
to tear down the driver that filed the protest will be refunded
100% of his or her money. If protested driver is found legal
he or she will receive 75% of money filed by protesting driver.
If the car is found illegal the protesting driver will be refunded
75% of his or her money.

Green Valley Speedway, shall incur no liability to any party,
whether a participant, spectator, guest or business invitee.
Racing is a risky sport and the viewing of same is also. You
enter the premises at your own risk and peril and you agree
to same with payment of passes and racing entry fees.
Management does not condone the use of alcohol or drugs.
